April is upon us. The team at Ladera is full-on chasing our goals and we hope you are too. The weather this time of year can be unpredictable, but not you. You are waking each day full of energy, focused, fit and climbing higher; right?
Every year January rolls around and most of us make multiple goals for the coming year. It could be diet, fitness, work or family-related. April is a great time to check in with yourself and reaffirm or pivot and adjust to more diverse or larger goals. No matter where you find yourself in your personal journey, we are so thankful to be along for the ride.
Ladera is stepping strongly into Spring 2021. We have grown so much over the past year and are emerging more determined than ever. With time for great focus, we find ourselves super energized to continue to make purposeful choices that will bring strength to all we interact with. At Ladera the core of our values has always been simple, wholesome, honest food that inspires others to greatness. With many fitness centers and restaurants closed this past year it has been impactful watching our families, friends, and customers take to new sports, build home gyms, find local trails, create outdoor yard masterpieces and dive deeper in love with preparing wholesome meals at home. We could not thank you more for sharing photos of our Almond Pecan Granola included in your morning smash hit, or our Cocoa Almond Granola making a weekly appearance as your outdoor bonfire-side late-night snack.
So, let’s check in. If you are having trouble finding the energy, time or motivation to stick to your goals what can we do to get back on track and stay focused forward? The end of the workday rolls around and that promise of a run or ride before dinner you made to yourself falters. What skills can we harness today to stay on track and keep our commitment to ourselves?
GOAL SETTING
Ladera team member, Heather Mason likes to set small goals, crush them and go for larger. Instead of making goals that will knock you off your track record day one, try to think smaller and set yourself up for success. Want to hit 100 sit-ups a day? Start with 10. Have a 50-mile bike ride on your list? Go ride 5 miles three times this week. Want to make a bag of Ladera Salty Maple protein bites last more than 2 days? We have no answers for that one…they are that good!
If April has shown up and you are still crushing each day, let’s think forward. Are you pleased with the goals you set? Do you want to re-adjust, look to climb higher or stay even and focused forward? Our physical health can allow us to do amazing things. How do you feel? Think about all the aspects of healthy living; can you improve on sleep? What about your diet?
Talk about crushing goals; in March, Ladera was fortunate to connect with the Women’s Cycling Ambassadors. This group of passion filled women cyclists is goal driven on multiple levels. Chasing a combined goal to introduce more women to the sport of cycling, but also to peruse their individual goals of a healthy active lifestyle. With needs for gluten free, low sugar, and high taste on the priority, the team connected with Ladera and instantly formed a strong bond. Inspiration does not stop there. Thank you for sharing with us your images of goal chasing, like hiking into an inspiring waterfall, or taking our Apple Cinnamon Protein bites on an amazing outdoor adventure.

Inspiration comes in all sorts. We asked Ladera team member Heather Mason for a thought on inspiration each day, “I make a list the night before of the top 3 things I want to accomplish the next day. Of course, 2 of these will always be work, but the third- that’s for me. Its typically a bike ride or run, but sometimes it can be as simple as going to pick up 3 or 4 varieties of fresh fruit to enjoy with my yogurt and granola bowl in the morning. My breakfast time is my time, preparing my breakfast bowl is a work of art and I would not have it any other way.”

May is national bike month. The team at Ladera loves cycling – just take a peek at our cycling kits! We are making plans to ride more, laugh more, and inspire others to try cycling. We are visiting our local bike shops, creating safe places to ride, and making sure our friends and family are prepared to join us.
