Great question, glad you asked.
The reason we exist is because of the founder’s mother (Karen Butterfield – MD), she spent years perfecting the granola for her family and friends, and now the world. Our original granola recipe, the Almond Pecan Granola, has not changed at all and is the basis for what we have done with all our other granolas and bites. These are simple recipes focused on amazing ingredients that are mixed by hand at baked at low temperatures. We don’t recommend trying to eat our bike gear, but maybe that tastes amazing as well.

All our products are 100% gluten free. The only ingredient that is exposed to the risk of gluten is our oats – we only use 100% certified gluten free oats. Every other ingredient has minimal risk of exposure. At our bakery we use dedicated equipment that does not touch gluten and store everything in dedicated gluten free storage.

Our granola and bites only use 100% certified organic or non-GMO ingredients. We have decided not to pursue an organic certification because of our high use of nuts in our granola. The price of organic certified almonds and pecans would make our granola inaccessible to the families that need our granola the most.

All the food we make at Ladera is 100% certified non-GMO. No genetic engineering here (although we do support science)!

Our nut-free Vanilla Quinoa Granola is 100% nut free, we use quinoa, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds in place of nuts and is made on dedicated nut-free equipment. Our bites are 100% nut free as well, same with all our gear : ).
